Fun Monday

Tiggerlane is our host for this week. This is our assignment...

Have you heard of The Bucket List? Well, that's what I want from you! Make a list of things you want to do before you die. It must be at least five items - and you can make it as long as you desire. Photos are optional. And let's hear about some of the wackiest, most bizarre to-do's on your Bucket List!

I am excited about this post. I actually have a list that Trad and I made a few years ago. I am going to post that plus and my own little half list for just myself.

These are in no particular order. We have actually marked off a few of them already.

  1. Go on a cruise. (This is mostly my idea, Trad has no desire to do this.)
  2. Build our own home together. (This may not happen since we are living in the house I grew up in. We did remodel the house and may add on one day.)
  3. See the US (especially the South & National Parks)
  4. Visit the continents (travel Europe, see the pyramids, great barrier reef, Japan, etc.)
  5. Visit the Olympics
  6. Visit the Sacred Grove
  7. Visit Salt Lake City (This we accomplished in 2001)
  8. See Washington DC (We have both been, just not together.)
  9. New Orleans at Mardi Gras
  10. Own our own business
  11. Go ice skating
  12. See a pro basketball game (We accomplished this also. We went to Atlanta to see the Hawks play the Raptors. We got mugged.)
  13. Learn sign language (We are working on this. Both of our sons are autistic and are non-verbal. We made this list before we had children, it's kinda funny that we wanted to learn, now we NEED to learn.)
  14. Take a photography course
  15. Fly to Hawaii (I said FLY. I will get the nerve one day.)
  16. Take dancing lessons. (Again, Trad has no desire to do this!)
  17. Learn about local history.
  18. Help others (especially during the holidays.)
  19. Vacation at Disney World, Sea World, Epcot, etc (We would have already gone if the boys didn't have problems with crowds or change.)
  20. Visit NYC at Christmas/New Years.

This is my list...

  1. I want to finish college sometime in my lifetime. I am not that far from a degree, but with the kids it is hard to take time for myself.
  2. I want to breed and train service dogs.
  3. I would like to write a book.
  4. Help with fundraising for AUTISM.
  5. Learn to sing.
  6. Give money each year to The Smile Train.

I am sure there is more, but I can't think of anything else right now. I am still excited that the GIANTS won the superbowl!!

I'm gonna have to go out on Google to search for the Sacred Garden. My curiosity is piqued now.

My Fun Monday is posted. I had a good time this week, voicing my opinions on Fun Monday.
Happy week to you.

Your list is great with some wonderful unselfish things on it. Enjoy!

Interesting that you both wanted to learn something that has turned out to be a necessity. Funny how that happens sometimes, isn't it?

I've always wanted to go to Mardi Gras too - but wonder how changed it is now after Katrina.

I love your lists. Very clever to have two! NYC on New Years Eve would be a hit.

Great List too!! I would Love to see the pyramids!!!

I beat you! I am commenting on you before you made it to me!

I am not competetive. I just like to win. Especially when the person I beat does not know there is a competition going on.

Good list. Really long. Me thinks you will have to get on a plane to do a lot of those! Ask the boys about ice skating. I don't think they thought it was all that great! But the girls LOVED it!

I like that you've already accomplished some of the things on your list. That has to feel good.

Great list!

Oh no! I hate that you visited my hometown of Atlanta and got mugged. I've lived here for my entire life (39 years) and, knock on wood, I've never been mugged. I hope you'll come back for another visit sometime with better results.

Loved your list(s)!

Not as "out there" as I expected from a blogger who's site is called "My Crazy Life"

Would you believe the list of participants has grown once again? I can hardly keep up! And building a new house is a total pain - so yeah, you're not missing much. Thanks for participating!

Love that this is a family list--or a husband/wife list of shared goals. Re your own list, I was interested in your breeding dogs for companion animals. Are you thinking of specifically as companions for autistic children? I've seen a couple of wonderful stories about how dogs can help bring these children out and also provide that level of security for autistic children. Good lucky on this very worthy effort.

Wonderful list. The Olympics are in the UK in 2012 so you could kill 2 birds with one stone - although I predict mass chaos, so maybe not! No faith in the Government :)

Good luck with making your dreams come true

I think you should start right know with the easiest things on your list !

I also would like to learn to sing. Right now I warble along in church and am grateful to be drowned out by others. Last January, I started taking guitar lessons. Eventually, I would like to take voice lessons.

Great list, it's good to see what you've accomplished, and great that you posted the Fun Monday Bunch too!

I think that's so great you and your hubby have a list together...even if he doesn't have any desire to go on that cruise or take dance lessons LOL I also liked your list. Both are great!

My first one was going on a cruise too. I didn't put this down but your mentioning of Mardi Gras would be something I would want to do. Another would be to go to Carnival in Rio.

Hope you get to do all those things on your Bucket List!!

Great list. I am in awe. I know how many challenges there can be with autistic kiddos. One of my coworkers has 2 autistic boys.

Read Born on a Blue Day by Daniel Tammet. He is an autistic savant and it is fascinating learning how people within the autism spectrum see the world differently.

I want to go to Florida Disney, Epcot. But I hate crowds. Do you think we could rent it for just a few of us for a day. Ha!

Aoj and The Lurchers said...

I've always wanted to learn sign language too! No reason but I have always thought it would be a good thing to learn.

ChrisB said...

It's great when you can start ticking things off the list ~ singing would be the last thing on my list can't sing a note in tune and I don't think any amount of training would change that!

SwampAngel65 said...

Great list and it's terrific you've already accomplished alot of things. (Sorry you got mugged!)

I hope one day your kids get to the point they can handle crowds better. They would LOVE Disney World! YOU would love Disney World...and EPCOT and SEAWORLD, etc. I've been to 'em all and always have a great time. Magical places...

I'm all about going to New Orleans for Mardi Gras! It looks like so much debaucherous fun!

I hope you get to do some of the things on your list, and by the way your kids are so cute.

You have a great list. I went ice skating in Memphis, TN when I was 1 and dilocated my knee. That done me in on ice skating.
I'm planing to go back to college when I finish home schooling.

Molly said...

I love ice skating. You have presented a very thoughtful list. I hope that you accomplish these things and more.

Kaytabug said...

Fantastic lists! Christmas time in NYC is wonderful, that would be another one I would be weary to take the boys with. The crowds are horrible. I hope that you can cross off everything on your lists!

Unknown said...

Such great list, or should I say lists? I would love to go on a cruise and learn sign language. :) Hope you accomplish at least a good portion of them. :)
